Trinity Shares!

  • Did you need an extra rake once last November, when the leaves were falling thick and fast?
  • Do you need an extra folding table and chairs for a big family dinner next month?
  • How about the next time it snows (of course it will), do you have a snow shovel?

If you sign up with Trinity Shares, you could send a message to everyone on this list and ask if anyone has a rake you can borrow for a day or two. On the other hand, if you sign up you will receive e-mail when someone else has a special need that perhaps only you can supply.

Signing up is really easy. Just CLICK HERE to send e-mail or telephone Sarah McGiverin at 383-7103. Be sure to say "Sign me up!"

In the second chapter of Acts, we are told that the early Christians held their possessions in common. Recently, I have been wishing that we did that today. Looking around my house, it is filled with many under-used objects: the sewing machine I have used 7 or 8 times in the past 8 years, the springform pan I used once (and keep hoping to use again soon), the stepladder that comes in very handy 5 or 6 times a year, the acoustic guitar that I cannot admit that I will probably never find the time to learn to play…

Recently I have realized that if "All that we have is [God's] alone," then that ALL must encompass a great deal more than the time and money I have been entrusted with. It has occurred to me that I am a mighty poor steward of God's sewing machine, God's springform pan, God's stepladder, and God's guitar… not to mention dozens of other items that I am holding on to in the certainty that I will be needing them any day now.

So, if you want to make a cheesecake and would like to borrow my springform pan, sign up!
