Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)
The IHN ministry empowers families and helps them get back on their feet again! On a rotating weekly schedule, IHN host churches provide transportation, two overnight hosts, and evening meals for up to three families who are currently without permanent housing. Trinity is responsible for providing evening meals only on Thursdays and Saturdays. In addition, Trinity provides all the breakfast and lunch food for the Day House. Financial contributions are always needed and welcomed. Other opportunities for service include shopping for groceries, preparing meals, staying overnight, helping to move in and out, and washing linens. YOU CAN HELP!
At the time the new summer schedule came out, one of the churches discovered a conflict with their Vacation Bible School and none of the churches could change. But, Westminster Presbyterian Church offered to house the resident families if individuals from the churches would pick up, drop off, purchase food, deliver food, stay overnight, and prepare a dinner. Trinity IHN thanks Bill Burig from Westminster for setting up the schedule for the current week to make all of the volunteers who jumped in to help out. Trinity contributed to this effort with two drivers –Jane Mickey and Carolyn Warden.
