In-Home Ministry
Home Communion
One of the more important ways that Trinity United Methodist Church cares for our homebound members is to provide Home Communion. This is a lay ministry that takes consecrated elements from the worship service to share with our shut-in members. A verse of Scripture and confession and prayer are shared in communion. The lay minister will also spend time in conversation with the homebound member, keeping them informed about the activities and ministries of the congregation.
Members of the congregation who cannot attend regular worship services may request to receive Holy Communion in their homes. Contact the church office at 683-1386.
Trinity's CD Ministry
Ever feel that the pastor's sermon was meant for you? Missed Church? Want to share part of our church experience with a friend? These are all needs filled by the CD Ministry. We reproduce and distribute recordings of sermons from the 11 a.m. worship service on CD and send them to our shut-ins. In the past year, this ministry has grown to where we are sending out 10 CDs each week! What we did not anticipate was the rising cost associated with sending them. There is postage, the cost of the CD and envelope to mail them. Total cost per CD is $2, that's over $1,000 per year.
If you would like to support this ministry, donations in any amount will be welcome. Please make checks payable to TUMC with "CD Ministry" in the Memo line and send to the church office.
