Update from the Covid Taskforce
Since community transmission levels in Durham have dropped into the "Low" range, per 9/22 CDC data, the Covid Task Force recommends:
1) Optional masking in the sanctuary and indoor meetings. 2) We continue to watch the levels closely and if low transmission rates continue, then we will change recommendations for indoor meal gatherings, but for now, we still do not recommend large groups gathering indoors while eating.
Please talk to your doctor and go get vaccinated with the new bivalent booster vax! Continue to wear a mask if you or a family member is in a high-risk group. Continue to wash hands or use hand sanitizer as flu season is also approaching! Most importantly, continue to pray for our country and the world to get control of this virus! We are making steady progress, may it continue.

Fall Mission Project Changes for C4C
Thanks to the generosity of Trinity’s congregation and because of the few in-person classes during the worst months of the Covid pandemic, Eastway still has an abundance of heavy-weight coats for children. As a result, the school requests light-weight jackets and/or sweatshirts, with or without hoods. Any color will be fine as well as child-appropriate logos. The sizes needed are 10-16 for girls and boys. Our fall collection of non-perishable food will occur concurrently with the jacket/sweatshirt collection: Sunday, October 16 – Sunday, November 13. More information will be in next week’s edition of The Steeple. |

Book Reading SUCCESS!Sacred Promise - contributing Author, Gertrude Mudzingwa On Sunday, September 25, after celebrating World Communion Sunday, many of our Trinity Family gathered in the Fellowship Hall to hear Gertrude Mudzingwa Merritt introduce the inspiration behind the collection of women’s stories, Sacred Promise, and then share a portion of her own story from the book. The audience was then invited to partake of a delicious light lunch feast prepared by the Allred-Shoaf ChristCare group, followed by an opportunity to purchase a book and have it signed. Thank you, Gertrude, for including your Trinity Family in the celebration of Sacred Promise. Thank you, Allred-Shoaf ChristCare, for lovingly preparing a marvelous array of luncheon goodies, setting up, and cleaning up. Thank you, Jim Ayres, for taking charge of the audio so that we could easily hear Gertrude’s presentation. Thank you to all those who helped get the Fellowship Hall back in order for the worship service that evening. And thank you to everyone—present in person or in spirit—who shared in the joy of witnessing the beautiful work of God within the heart of one of God’s children at Trinity Church. For those who want to purchase a copy of the book, Gertrude can be contacted by email: trudiemud@yahoo.com, or by phone or text at (919) 886-3309 (suggested donation of $30+ supporting girls' education in Zimbabwe) |
