Easter LILIESDedicate in Memory or In Honor of Loved One It is the church’s tradition to adorn the chancel with white lilies on Easter Sunday. This year, all of the lilies will be delivered to homebound members. We offer you the opportunity to dedicate a lily in honor or in memory of a loved one. Please send the name to the church office by March 26th. If you have questions or concerns, please contact LaNella Smith at 919-683-1386. Meaning of the Easter LilyIn Christendom, the lily has come to symbolize the resurrection of Jesus. The bulb of the flower buried in the ground stands for the tomb of Jesus, and the white trumpet flowers that grow from the bulbs symbolize His life after death. The white color signifies the Savior’s purity, and the trumpet shape represents Angel Gabriel’s trumpet call to rebirth and new life. Source: http://www.fmgg.org/events-2/easter-lily/ |
The 50th Annual Durham CROP Hunger Walk
We give thanks to our Trinity family and friends who are walking in the CROP Walk. Prayer to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary You saw the pains of this world 50 years ago. Amen. |
Lights, Camera, Action
In the next few weeks, you may notice our Duke Divinity intern, Liv, with a camera in her hands. She is going to be filming the congregation in action for a series of videos we hope will attract new folks to "Come and See" how Trinity is serving God here in downtown Durham.
Our plan is to create short videos for as many of Trinity's activities as possible. One feature we would like to include in each video is a short statement from a congregation member on why the ministry they are participating in is important to them. Liv will be reaching out to folks to contribute to this effort, but we would welcome volunteers as well. Feel free to talk to Liv or contact me (alex@trinitydurham.org) if you are interested in helping out.
Grace and Peace,
Alex Crowell

Trinity Welcomes 3 New Members
Trinity was pleased and honored to welcome three new full-professing members into our faith community on Sunday, March 10th. Our new members are Chris Jeffreys, Maggie Hayes, and Marston Copeland. (Point of interest: Appointed Local Pastors, Deacons, and Elders in The United Methodist Church maintain their membership, not with the local church, but with the Annual Conference where they are connected. Thus, Pastor Esther Robinson's church membership remains with the Florida Annual Conference.)

Meet Rev. Esther Robinson
I served the Florida Annual Conference for 40 years, retiring from active service in June 2023. I am the daughter of UM pastor and missionaries Rev. Morrell and Lois Robinson. I have a brother George who lives in Miami and a brother Steed and sister-in-law Jean in Hillsborough. My dog Finn and I are enjoying the freedom of retirement and this wonderful body of Christ at Trinity United Methodist Church! Rev. Esther Robinson |
