Trinity is hosting the Durham Community Sing (DCS) again this year! Last year, the sanctuary was PACKED, and the balcony was PACKED. This year will be the same. There were not enough volunteers last year. A few more are needed for this year.

The concert is May 31, Saturday.

The church will be open 8:15am-4pm.

The choir will practice in Sanctuary 10am-noon, lunch in Fellowship Hall noon-1:15pm, and perform in the Sanctuary 1:30pm-3pm.

The time in the church prior to 10am will be arrival and registration time for the choir. No public admitted.

The time in the church after 3pm will be equipment take-down, sanctuary clean-up, Fellowship Hall clean-up, and church lock-up.

There will be two 4.25-hour shifts needed for volunteers.

The 1st shift is 8:00am-12:15pm.

The 2nd shift is 11:45am-4:00pm.

We need 5 volunteers for each shift.

DCS will provide at least 12 volunteers, so we will have a lot of them to help each of us at each "duty station."

These are the 5 volunteer "duty stations" needed:

1) *Monitor and direct traffic in the Narthex to the Sanctuary, to the Fellowship Hall, and to the balcony. *Clean-up of Narthex throughout the day and after event is over.

2) *Direct traffic at side sanctuary door in the Family Area. *There will be space in that area for parking wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Persons who can't leave their device will be seated in their device in that space available in the pews when the choir chairs are moved. *Direct traffic to Fellowship Hall and bathrooms. Both bathrooms in ramp and elevator area will be designated for women. Both bathrooms in the basement just off the elevator will be designated for men. *At end of event, check basement bathrooms for food trash and remove it. Paper towel trash can remain for cleaning service.

3) *Monitor traffic and operation of automatic ramp door. Do not allow that automatic door to be propped open or interrupted in its motion. *Direct traffic to Fellowship Hall and bathrooms. Both bathrooms in that area will be designated for women. Both bathrooms in the basement just off the elevator will be designated for men. *At end of event, check ramp door bathrooms for food trash and remove it. Paper towel trash can remain for cleaning service.

4 and 5) Fellowship Hall. Tables and chairs set-up for lunch. *Accept and display approximately 200 lunches DCS will have delivered. *Set trash bin outside because many people will eat their lunch outside. (If it's raining, we'll have a Rain Plan.) *Set-up and monitor 2 charging spaces. *At end of lunch, take down tables and chairs, and take garbage to dumpsters.

We'll have a short orientation on these "duty stations" closer to the date of the event.

Stephen Armstrong, our Minister of Music, will be at the church for the entire time the church is open.

Please email Annette Baker (drbakernc@gmail.com) if you can volunteer for one or both shifts, and which of the "duty stations" you can work.
