Trinity's Congregations for Children 2022 Concurrent Mission ProjectsSunday, Oct 16 through Sunday, November 13 If there were ever a perfect day to take warm clothing to children, it was Monday, November 13, when the morning temperature was 30 degrees. Once again, Trinity United Methodist Church provided help to our neighbors at Eastway Elementary School! The school has the highest number of homeless families in the district. Currently, students from 60 families are in this group. Several reside in the local shelters, some in hotels, and some double up with family or friends. All need our love and support, and for the past 6 years, Trinity has provided both. On that chilly November morning, your Congregations for Children Committee delivered more than 30 warm jackets, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and gloves. In addition, we delivered 25 boxes with more than enough food to feed a family of 4 or more for the entire Thanksgiving holiday weekend, when school will be closed and children who depend on free or reduced breakfast and lunch would have little access to nutritious food. Dr. Jackaline Teel, the new Principal, Mr. John Guffey, the new Assistant Principal, and Ms. Genee Murray Maddox, the School Social Worker, received our gifts with joy and deep appreciation. As always, 2 members of our C4C Committee sent chocolate treats to every adult in the school, including teachers, administrators, cafeteria workers, custodians, and bus drivers. These thoughtful gifts touch the hearts of the recipients each time. With humble gratitude for all that God accomplishes through Trinity, your C4C Committee thanks each of you for your gifts.
