Join us for the Fifth Sunday of Easter as we continue our sermon series, Building Blocks: Stories of the early church, and how they teach us the fundamentals of faith. This week Rev. Carolyn Schuldt will lead us in talking about asking questions. How do we know the way? We will be streaming online at trinitydurham.org or YouTube. The Scripture readings will be from Psalm 31:1-5,15-16; John 14:1-14, and 1 Peter 2:2-10. We hope you will join us!

Pastor Tobi will resume next week with the Building Blocks of the Faith. 

On May 7th, we look forward to welcoming Reverend Carolyn Schuldt to the pulpit and Rev. Dr. Richey to preside at the Table for Communion, while Pastor Tobi attends a wedding out of state with her family. We hope that you will join us on this special Sunday.

Trinity’s Congregations for Children (C4C) is happy to announce our final mission project for the 2022-2023 academic year. Our Kindergarten Book Bag Mission Project will help rising kindergarten students who will enroll in Eastway Elementary over the coming weeks. We will collect new book bags, small enough for kindergarteners and without rollers, as well as the school supplies to fill them. It is our hope that every kindergarten student will have the supplies needed to get off to a good start in school this fall.

Collection Sundays for the project will be April 30-May 21.  We will collect book bags and hope to put the following specific supplies in each bag:

(3) Student folders with pockets & prongs for notebook paper

(1) Notebook paper (approx. 100 sheets, wide ruled)

(6) #2 Ticonderoga pencils

(1) Crayola large crayons (approx. 8 crayons per box)

(1) Elmer’s school glue stick

(1) pencil/crayon pouch or box

(1) small bottle of hand sanitizer

No one needs to fill a book bag completely! Bring what you feel led to bring, and as always, it will work out to the glory of God! If you prefer for C4C members to shop for you, please mail a check to Trinity, and be sure to put C4C on the memo line.

On May 28th, we will have a New Members' Sunday. 

We will be celebrating the baptism of Elijah Clarkson, son of Collins & Jill Clarkson. You don't want to miss this opportunity to stand alongside the Clarksons in the observance of baptism!

We are collecting Trinity UMC's favorite hymns to sing in July.

Open Table is in desperate need of belts and ballcaps for their Free Store that happens every Tuesday. These are some of the most requested items, especially during the summertime. Belts of all sizes, mainly men's, are in great need as they have depleted their stock of these items. 

If you have items laying around the house that you no longer need, or if you would like to go and purchase new items, all donations are welcome!
