THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF PANCAKE FOR THE PEOPLE
On December 31, we ran another successful "Pancakes for the People." We directly fed over 50 guests - plus a lot of Trinity folks - and the leftovers went out to feed even more of our unhoused neighbors. We got everything done - and we helped folks who needed it. Many thanks to all of our amazing volunteers, including: Carolyn Schuldt, Annette Morgan, Russ Odom, Shelby Bowles, Angela & Travis Fountain, Reggie Allred & his grandson Chris, James Best, Michael Guidry-Vollers, Mark Scruggs, Carl & Dale Ross, Beth Schartinger, Bettina Knight, Josh & Zach Benson, Scott Livesey, Tobi & Jimmy & Kay & Lorelei Nguyen! |

UPDATE ON EASTWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE PROJECT
After a few discussions this week with our Eastway Elementary partners, we will delay our attendance project. Although they still need our assistance, a big project is complicating our planning. Eastway is preparing to move from the standard school year to a year-round school model. We are currently looking at moving the project (our dinner with the families) to a time closer to spring break since the new school schedule will change what sort of support and messaging the families will need to receive moving forward. Travis will let you know as things develop. Also, in the meantime, please review a recent article about school attendance at the national level. Please find the article below: To Fight Absenteeism, Schools Turn to Private Companies — ProPublica Also, feel free to email Travis and commit to volunteering to help our neighborhood kids in other ways between now and our Eastway project! He can be contacted via email (travis@trinitydurham.org) or cell at 706-351-9918. He hopes to hear from you soon! |

MOMENTS WITH MIKE: BELOVEDRev. Mike Frese, Corridor District Superintendent My wife and I were going through some boxes, and we uncovered pictures of our daughters when they were babies. We are grateful for them, for what they mean to us, and for the joy they bring to our lives. However, getting them into the world was an ordeal. I suppose the first child is the most “interesting” because we had no idea what to expect. Well, Jessica announced herself fairly quickly … For more infomation visit: https://corridordistrictnc.org/2024/01/moments-with-mike-beloved/
